Overview
A minimalist, self-contained narrative exploring curiosity, disappointment, and playful redirection. The story follows a cat's shadow fixated on a spray-painted moon. When an unseen human hand erases the moon, the cat's ensuing disappointment is quickly resolved by the introduction of a new, dynamic object - a bouncing ball. Clocking in at just under a minute, this short film demonstrates the ability to deliver a tight, emotional narrative arc and establish clear character motivation without relying on complex world-building, dialogue, or elaborate environments.
Style
High-contrast 2D shadow animation grounded against a hyper-realistic, monochromatic concrete backdrop. Using a static camera and a single focal plane forces the storytelling to rely entirely on character animation, timing, and spatial framing to carry the emotional weight of the scene.
