A cinematic music promo for Nuage IX's single Elsewhere - a visual meditation on surrender, transformation, and the moment hope finds you at your lowest. Created entirely with AI, the project required sustained character consistency across two distinct worlds: the cold, dark river of the descent and the bright, open sky of the emergence.

Approach

The narrative was structured as a single unbroken psychological journey, no cuts away, no relief until the character earns it. A consistent character was created and maintained across different environments: submerged in dark water, suspended in the depths, and finally breaking the surface into blinding light. The challenge was making the transition feel earned rather than abrupt — using the eye as the hinge, a close-up of it closing in darkness and opening to an orb of light, before the world changes entirely around him.

The result

The process began with building the artist's likeness from scratch: a consistent, photorealistic AI-generated character capable of carrying the emotional weight of the narrative across every frame. From there the focus was purely cinematic: deep blacks, shallow depth of field, water catching light in ways that blur the line between the real and the surreal. Every shot was framed with intention: the river surface from above, the suspension underwater, the extreme close-up of the eye. The camera doesn't just observe the journey. It feels it.
