Overview
A spec ad for Campari exploring the brand's iconic relationship with desire, escapism, and Italian sensuality. Built entirely with AI, the project pushed the boundaries of what's possible in AI filmmaking - from generating a consistent original character to maintaining visual coherence across scenes. The goal was to prove that cinematic, brand-worthy work no longer requires a traditional production.
Approach
The visual language was built around a single rule : black and white throughout, with red appearing exclusively when Campari does. Holding that colour discipline frame by frame across a non-linear narrative was the central creative and technical focus. A lead character was conceived and built from scratch: a troubled, vintage Italian man with the weight of the world behind his eyes. Keeping him consistent across the bar, the open ocean, and the surreal spaces in between required rigorous work in character creation, consistency, and object permanence, pushing AI tooling to its limits in service of the story.
The result
A cinematic short that moves from a dimly lit bar to the open ocean and a cascading waterfall and back again, held together by a single colour. The red that bleeds through the water. The red in his eyes as he surfaces. The red he orders a bottle of. Campari doesn't save him. It just reminds him what it feels like to be alive.
